Family Inside Activities Staff - Part-Time

Summary Trained in multiple duties in various inside areas: Bowling, Game Room Redemption, Roller Skating, Mini-Golf, Guest Information, Exercise Room and team-trained with other areas such as Outside Family Activities and Adventure Programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Displays friendly, positive and professional behavior with guests, coworkers and supervisors. Upholds the values and standards of the department, company handbook, safety handbook and cash handling policy. Staff members must adhere to established dress code, which requires that visible body piercings are limited to no more than two per ear and tattoos must be covered. Makes a concerted effort to build self-esteem in co-workers and participates to improve skills. Maintains professional appearance with name tag. Solicits guests to participate in Resort activities. Team-trained in Family Outside Activities Areas and Adventure Programs. Makes a concerted effort to assist guests to exceed their expectations. Monitors guest safety and takes action to prevent injuries. Performs opening and closing procedures. Completes appropriate paperwork. Provides guests with information. Maintains accurate cash bank. Performs general maintenance, sweeping, mopping emptying garbage, cleaning windows and other cleaning duties. Keeps area neat, clean and organized (including refrigerator and microwave). Recognizes and reports unsafe conditions and/or equipment to supervisor. Reports needed items to supervisor. Communicates issues to supervisor. Collects money from guests, performs deposit to bank. Maintains a safe environment. Understands emergency action plan. Maintains first aid kit. Requests days off to Family Activities Director. Any additional duties assigned by the Family Activities Director, Department Head, Operations Director or COO. Bowling: Performs daily responsibilities including siriusware functions, keeping shoes sprayed, etc. Handles group bowling reservations. Performs payouts for the game room. Remove pin jam and performs other trouble shooting. Performs maintenance responsibilities such as dusting, oiling, sweeping, lane stripping, cleaning gutters and pin deck, cleaning of approach and ball returns, cleaning tables in the back, cleaning of bowling balls and any other maintenance duties. Completes bowling maintenance log. Provides bowling shoes to guests and assists setting up bowling screen. Prevents guests from leaving the bowling center with bowling shoes on. Calls room service for guests. Maintains a waiting list. Keeps all exits easily accessible. Keeps flammable and combustible materials in designated areas. Mini-Golf Performs daily responsibilities including siriusware functions. Provides guests with golfball and helps size club length. Checks to make sure all bricks are secure. Prevents balls from being taken from the mini-golf area. Roller Skating Performs daily responsibilities including siriusware functions. Provides skates and blades to guests. Performs skate/blade maintenance, repairs, spraying, etc. Schedules guests for golf simulator and assists guests with use. Provides security. Performs skate guard duties, skating, monitors guest behavior, Game Room Redemption Keeps display and back room stocked. Provides input for suggested items. Takes inventory of redemption items. Pays out for game malfunctions. Keeps track of sold items. Uses scanning technology for sales and inventory. Handles aquatics equipment sales and inventory. Closes the Exercise Room. Creates requisitions for items that need to be ordered for Family Activities Manager approval. Guest Information Staff member is aware of current information, daily weather, ski report, Laurel Highlands, overflow accommodations, entertainment, current & upcoming events, hours of operation, directions, etc and conveys information to guests in a helpful manner. Refunds for vending machines. Refunds for Alpine Slide. Monitors the Exercise Room, restocks towels, handles garbage, etc. Performs daily responsibilities including siriusware functions. Enters lost and found items. Packages and takes items to shipping. Calls Hotel Service for shuttles or Vehicle Repair service for guests. Provides telephone numbers for local babysitters. Adds guest names to mailing list. Mails or faxes brochures and other Resort information. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions, short correspondence. Ability to effectively and professionally present information in one-to-one and small group situations to guests, co-workers and supervisors. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to count money. Reasoning Ability Ability to understand and carry out oral or written directions. Ability to solve problems and communicate problems to supervisor. Staff members must hold duties making decisions legally and ethically encompassing core principles of honesty, accountability, personal responsibility and trust that govern all staff members' actions, thus to do what is right. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Certifications: CPR* and First Aid* *Courses may be completed after hiring. Must be renewed as required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Staff Members over 18 must have a valid drivers license. Staff members over 18 may occassionally be required to drive a company vehicle. Other Skills and Abilities: Must demonstrate strong communication skills and have ability to work as part of a team. Must be able to multitask, manage multiple guests. Staff member may be required to use hand tools. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a staff member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the staff member regularly works indoors and outdoors, encounters cleaning chemicals, fumes or airborne particles. The staff member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. Staff member is required to frequently interact with adults and children of various age groups. While performing some duties the staff member will be provided with appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) and staff member is expected to use it properly. @Staff member is required to work a flexible schedule including day and evening shifts, weekends and holidays. Shift hours may be variable. Position may be year-round, seasonal, part-time or full time as designated by the Families Activities Manager.
